This is my personal website. I use it to document my experiences in birding, photography, astronomy, travel and more. I have a day job, so I don’t get a lot of time for it, however I do check on comments regularly and add blog posts when I can.
Some years ago I wrote a very simple Chrome extension to highlight words of interest in plain text documents (log files) opened in Chrome using regular expressions. This was when I worked at a bank as a software developer and the log files for a widely used application could only be opened in Chrome, and I (and everyone who used that application) would need to search numerous log files over and over for things like process IDs, various keywords, etc. to know if the application succeeded or to grab a useful piece of information from it. As you can imagine this was repetitive and nuanced since you wanted to search different things in different log files. So to make my life easier I wrote this small plug-in, got it approved by the internal security team and encouraged my colleagues to use it as well. To be clear, no personal data is collected by this plug-in. Zero. Here it is:

I would also like to take this opportunity to make a few more plugs.
- My mom has her own website about copywriting and more recently a food channel on YouTube.
- If you are considering donating towards charity, I’d suggest you consider the World Land Trust.
- If you are considering buying a telescope, I’d recommend Astronomics (I don’t stand to gain in any way by recommending them. My experience with them has led me to believe that they have a sense of professionalism, integrity and ethics, hence my recommendation.)
